A Deadpool 2 Promotion Is Selling Tickets For 4 Bucks
If you're fired up about seeing Deadpool 2 but less fired up about spending full price on a ticket, T-Mobile, Twentieth Century FOX and Atom Tickets are partnering to save you some money. The new power trio is offering opening weekend passes for the low price of just $4 a pop, which isn't half bad considering round one sold a lot of tickets during its first couple of days.
The specifics of the promotion are relatively simple. T-Mobile users just need to get on the T-Mobile Tuesdays app on May 15th and sign up to get a $4 ticket, which will later be redeemed through the Atom Tickets app. So, yes, you will need to be downloading and/ or using apps in order for this to work. So, if you've forgotten your password, good luck. You're going to need to go through the retrieval process and it'll be a whole thing.
Many movie fans are still unfamiliar with Atom Tickets. For those who are, it's a growing app that allows users to buy tickets on their phones for showings at most of the major movie theaters. Their primary focus is on splitting the price of tickets between friends and allowing you to preorder concessions at participating theaters, which would come in handy for me since I love hot dogs and hate standing in line.
As for Deadpool 2, fans are on the edge of their seats wondering what they're going to see. The first film was almost universally beloved, but then director Tim Miller left the sequel, there were rumors of some poor test screenings and reshoots and fans started wondering if maybe the movie was doomed. All in all, it was a bad run of press there for awhile, but the foul-mouthed superhero seems to have gotten back on course. The trailers played very well. Some of the wilder rumors about the reshoots were explained away, and now everyone is just ready and waiting to see the damn movie already. And if we can all see it for $4, why the hell not?
Deadpool 2 opens on May 18th. It once again features Ryan Reynolds as the title character. He'll be joined by familiar faces Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller and Brianna Hildebrand. Joining the cast are Josh Brolin as Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino and more. Expect lots of swearing, lots of what the MPAA would call "adult situations" and of course, a very full theater on opening weekend. So, get your tickets soon for those prime showings, whether it's through this $4 offer or not.
